Public consultation for Cavan Greenway to take place in June
The proposed, 40km long, Cavan Greenway will connect the towns of Cavan, Ballyconnell, Belturbet, and Clones.
It will form part of a regionally significant greenway that will provide linkages with other proposed greenways in the Cavan/Monaghan/Leitrim region and will provide an excellent outdoor experience and recreational activities for all visitors. This strategically important greenway will providing linkages to the following current or planned routes:
1.Ulster Canal Greenway
2.Ballyconnell to Bellaheady Recreational Trail
3.Cavan - Leitrim Railway Greenway
4.Cavan Town Urban Greenway (Phase 1)
5.Cavan to Mullingar Railway Greenway
6.Cavan - Leitrim Railway Greenway
7.Belturbet to Lock 1 Corraquil Recreational Trail
8.Lock 1 Corraquil to Ballyconnell Recreational Trail
A public consultation regarding the proposed Greenway will take place in June. A leaflet with indicative route options has been prepared for information purposes and may be viewed at the link below. Please note these options are indicative only and draft route options will be published in advance of the public consultation process.
