At the May meeting of the Council, councillors approved the co-option of Councillor Adrian Rogers, who occupies the seat vacated by Sarah O'Reilly following her election to Seanad Éireann.
The members of Cavan County Council have created a funding scheme in each of the three Municipal District areas for the purpose of supporting community groups in delivering and promoting projects in their areas such as small-scale amenity projects, purchase of equipment for community halls/groups, materials, etc.
The Festival and Events Grant Scheme provides financial assistance to groups and organisations engaged in festivals or events at a local level.
As the current spell of fine weather continues, Cavan County Council joins with Water Safety Ireland, the Coast Guard, and the RNLI to urge the public to prioritise safety and be prepared for summer activities on or near the water.
