Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994.

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder each night from 7:00 pm until 7:00 am the following morning starting Monday night 27th October 2025 until Thursday night 30th October 2025 and again on Tuesday night 4th November 2025 and Wednesday night 5th November 2025 for the purposes of resurfacing works.

R-212-4 Dublin Road, Cavan from its junction with the R-212-3 / R-212-4 / R-935-0 (Tractamotors Junction) in the townland of Creighan to its junction with the L-2543-0 / R-212-6 / R-212-7 (Roundabout near Aldi) in the townland of Killynebber.

Alternative Route

Eastbound – From Junction R-935-0 / R-212-3 / R-212-4 (Tractamotors Junction) travel southwards via R-935-0 Ballinagh Road to Junction R-935-0 / N-55-5 / N-55-6 (former Cavan Motors Roundabout), then northeastwards along the N-55-6 Cavan By-pass to Junction N-55-6 / N-3-11 / N-3-10 / R-212-7 (Dublin Road Roundabout), then westwards along the R-212-7 Dublin Road to Junction R-212-7 / R-212-6 / L-2543 (Roundabout near Aldi). End of detour.
Westbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to westbound traffic.

Note that access to and egress from the Aldi Store shall be via the L-2543-0 Cavan Town Eastern Access Road.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local access will be accommodated where practicable.
