Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder from Monday, 21 October to Friday, 25 October each day from 7pm to 7am the following day and again from Sunday, 27 October to Wednesday, 30 October each day from 7pm to 7am the following day for the purposes of resurfacing works.

Roads closed:

R-188-2 Cootehill Road, Cavan from its junction with the R-188-1 / L-2034-0 / L-2012-0 (Drumalee Cross) in the townland of Drumalee to its junction with the R-188-7(Link Road to N-3 Northbound) in the townland of Cullies.

Alternative Route:

Northbound: From Junction R-188-1 / L-2034-0 / R-188-2 / L-2012-0 (Drumalee Cross) travel north-westwards along the L-2012-0 to Junction L-2012-0 / R-212-2, then northwards along the R-212-2 to Junction R-212-2 / L-1532-0 / L-212-1 (Latt Roundabout), then north-eastwards along the R-212-1 to Junction R-212-1 / R-212-5, then along the R-212-5(Link Road to N-3) to Junction R-212-5 / N-3-11, then southwards along the N-3-11 to Junction N-3-11 / R-188-8, then along the R-188-8 (Link Road from N-3 to R-188 Cootehill Road) to Junction R-188-8 / R-188-2 to rejoin the R-188 Cootehill Road. End of detour.

Southbound:From Junction R-188-2 / R-188-7 travel along the R-188-7 (Link Road to N-3 Northbound) to Junction R-188-7 / N-3-11, then northwards along the N-3-11 to Junction N-3-11 / N-3-12 / R-212-5, then along the R-212-5 (Link Road from N-3 to R-212 Ballyhaise Road) to Junction R-212-5 / R-212-1, the south-westwards along the R-212-1 to Junction R-212-1 / R-212-2 / L-1532-0 (Latt Roundabout), then southwards along the R-212-2 & R-212-3 to Junction R-212-3 / R-188-0, then north-eastwards along the R-188-0 & R-188-1 to Junction R-188-1 / L-2012-0 / R-188-2 / L-2034-0 (Drumalee Cross). End of detour.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as far as practicable.
